Meet the Team

Brian Barnett BVSc MRCVS (OV)

Brian is originally from South Africa and is one of the most popular and long-standing members of staff at Goddard Veterinary Group, having been with us since 1997.  He has a specific interest in surgery, especially soft tissue surgery. Brian is a committed member of the local community and, together with his nurses and their pets, regularly gives talks at schools which gives many children their first experience of pet handling.  He also regularly offers placements to work experience students, veterinary students and foreign veterinarians.

As a Ministry appointed Official Veterinarian (OV), Brian is authorised to issue pet passports and pet export certificates.

Away from the surgery Brian is a keen scuba diver and is a qualified PADI diving instructor.

Rebecca Swan

Rebecca graduated from the Royal Veterinary College in 2010 and has worked for the Goddard Group since 2013, firstly as a locum and has now decided to stay put at the Hackney branch. Rebecca undertook study placements at Hackney while at University so knows the practice and staff well.  Rebecca enjoys all areas of Veterinary Science and her main interests are Feline Medicine especially geriatric cases.  In her spare time she enjoys horse riding and looking after her two cats Winnie and Wilbur.

Sarah Hutt RVN - Head Nurse

Sarah joined the team at Hackney in 2015 having previously locumed at the branch.  Sarah studied a BTEC in Animal Management at Leeds City College before going on to complete a Level 3 Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in 2013 at Leeds College of Animal Welfare.  After moving to London she worked at the Blue Cross Hospital and the PDSA before joining the Goddard Group.  Sarah has a keen interest in all aspects of theatre and anaesthesia and she also runs the wellness clinics at the practice together with Rosie our recently qualified RVN.

Sarah Vaughan - Diploma of Veterinary Nursing

Sarah joined the team at Hackney in 2017, having transferred from our surgery in Highbury.  Sarah graduated in New Zealand in 2011 and has had years of experience as a qualified nurse and worked for four and a half years as a medicine specialist nurse.  Sarah has two cats back in New Zealand and misses them dearly.  She is looking forward to exploring Europe whilst she is living in the UK

Angela Spence - Receptionist

Angela has worked for the Goddard Group since 2003 and is a key member of staff at the Hackney surgery, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of this particularly busy branch. She is a local lady and a favourite with our clients due to her professionalism and great sense of humour.

Jaimee Giauzzo - Receptionist

Jaimee started as a volunteer at the Hackney branch and due to her keen interest in pursuing a career as a veterinary nurse has now been taken on as a full-time member of the team.  She is currently working on reception but will be starting her Veterinary Care Assistant course in 2015.  Jaimee has three cats of her own - Lennon, Harrison and Ringo and has a keen interest in cat behaviour and really loves caring for the inpatients at the branch.
